Podium 4 Sport Launch Monthly Awards with Athletics Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland's leading provider of sports equipment, Podium 4 Sport, has announced a monthly award scheme with governing body Athletics Northern Ireland.

The monthly award of an £100 voucher will reward not only those excelling in competition but also volunteers and officials who work endless hours contributing to the sport Podium 4 Sport are Athletics NI's official sports commercial partner, providing financial support and prizes for the Titanic Quarter 10k, Les Jones 10k and Seeley Cup 10k.

Craig Allen, Marketing Manager at the store said: "As part of our commitment to local sport at all levels, from grassroots to professional, we were happy to link in Athletics NI to provide monthly prizes to those athletes/coaches/volunteers who are making a difference to the sport".

April is the first month of the awards and it goes to Springwell Running Club's Sally Brown after her amazing performances at the IWAS World Junior Championships in Dubai. Sally won a gold medal in the 200m at the IWAS World Junior Championships beating number one rival Russian Nikol Rodomakina in April.

She ran 26.43 seconds which was just outside her personal best. Senior World Championships 200m bronze medallist Sally Brown (coach: Philip Tweedy) - double silver medallist in last year's edition of this event and one of the youngest members of the team at only 15-years old also took silver in the T46 under-23 100m in a PB of 13.15. Sally was part of the Aviva Great Britain and Northern Ireland under-23 team.

On her senior international debut, she exceeded all expectations to take bronze in the T46 200m (26.38 (-0.6m/s)) in New Zealand in January. "I am really delighted to receive this award. It will mean I can get the new trainers I have had my eye on for a while. I have had a great start to the season with my bronze medal in the 200m at the IPC World Championships in New Zealand.

I also have just come back from the IWAS World Juniors in Dubai with a PB and silver in the 100m and gold in the 200m. I am very pleased with my achievements so far and can't wait until my next competition."
