NI's leading athletes get a helping hand to reach the top

Sport Northern Ireland has provided governing body Athletics NI with financial support to engage the services of Kyle Alexander to provide massage to athletes in the Sports Institute programme.
Kyle who has been a soft tissue masseur with Athletics Ireland and Ulster rugby for the past few years, has been working with this particular group of athletes since January.
Athletes have found that massage helps aid recovery between sessions and the current scheme has been set up to assist in this vital process.
The athletes that benefit from this service said;
"Training at a high intensity leaves me with tight and sore muscles. Regular massage sessions with Kyle help keep my muscles in good condition, preventing injuries and enabling me to train at the level required to perform.
Kyle said:
"It's fantastic to see Sport Northern Ireland and Athletics Northern Ireland supporting their athletes by helping to provide this service. I'm thoroughly enjoying working with such a talented, committed and dedicated group of athletes and its going to be exciting to see them progress through this season."
Kyle is currently the sports massage therapist for Ulster Rugby and Irish Athletics and has worked with Northern Ireland football squads.
Kyle has also worked for the Sports Institute Northern Ireland for two years, gaining experience in working with elite international athletics in a wide range of sports including track and field athletics, cycling, swimming, triathlon, hockey, cricket, boxing, rowing, squash, judo and sailing.
