Zoe Brown breaks NI Pole Vault Record
They say in life that patience is a virtue but try telling that to Zoe Brown. After 8 long years of trying Zoe finally bettered her Northern Ireland pole vault record of 4.26m that she set as a fresh faced 20 year old in February 2004.
Competing in the AAI National league meeting in Tullamore yesterday Zoe cleared 4.30m on her third attempt to set a new best mark.
Commenting after the competition Zoe said "When I arrived at the Tullamore track today and saw the weather conditions I knew I had to do it today.
I'd been looking for an opportunity to use my bigger poles and the strong tailwind today allowed me to do that. I'm just so, so happy to have finally got 4.30m. I hope I can jump higher before the end of the season"
Zoe no doubt is hoping that PB's are like buses - you wait 8 years for one to come along and then you get two!"
