The Mary Peters Track Is Now OPEN!

The Track first opened in 1975 (officially on Monday 19th April 1976) and has 30 acres of conifer woodland planted out as a shelterbelt. A network of forest trails surround the track leading to Shaws Bridge and the Lagan Towpath.

All enquiries/bookings relating to the track can be made through the Athletics NI office via info@athleticsni.org or on 02890 602 707.

Opening Hours

Monday – Thursday        9.30am to 8.30pm

Friday – Sunday             10am to 4.30pm

Due to the popularity of the new Mary Peters Track and high usage numbers leading to congestion, Athletics NI has decided to lift the restriction on use of lane 1 on a trial basis.

However, if the lane begins to show excessive wear, the restrictions may be reinstated at any time.

Athletics NI is delighted at the enthusiasm of athletics clubs, schools and recreational runners who are taking the opportunity to use the new facility, and hope that the success continues throughout the season.

During this busy period we ask that users check the exclusive booking notices posted in the stand, and on www.athleticsni.org.  Members are reminded, as per the conditions of your membership, you will be unable to access the track during private bookings.

If you have queries about bookings or track availability please contact Athletics NI in advance – info@athleticsni.org / 02890 602 707
