“Nurturing young aspiring athletes to become the talent of the future”

Athletics Northern Ireland’s new Talent Identification Programme, the “Rising Stars Squad” aims to identify young athletes who may be the talent of the future and develop their athletic ability using a multi-event approach.

The Rising Stars Squad which replaces the existing Regional Development Squad programme will have a fresh coaching structure, broader age range (12-14) and the emphasis will be on developing young athletes with all round athletic ability, appropriate strength and mobility, and sound bio-mechanical technique for running, jumping and throwing.

Rising Stars: Support Coach

2012 has seen the biggest intake of athletes in the Belfast and Derry/Londonderry Rising Stars programme since it began 3 years ago. As a result both squads are now looking for Support Coaches on the programme.

This is a fantastic opportunity for Assistant Coaches and Level 1 coaches to gain further experience working with talented athletes aged 12-14 and learn from our Rising Stars Coaches.

Please Note: Applications will be accepted upon meeting the essential criteria listed on the ‘Rising Stars: Support Coach’ Document.  All successful applications will be placed on a Casual Coach list and contacted each month with coaching opportunities.
