All athletics staff and volunteers, including coaches and officials, must have an Access NI disclosure check carried out every 3 years.

Clubs should also have additional helpers checked before they take up duties.

ACCESS NI IS NORTHERN IRELAND'S DISCLOSURE SERVICE, EQUIVALENT TO THE CRIMINAL RECORDS BUREAU OF ENGLAND AND WALES, AND DISCLOSURE SCOTLAND.

CLUBS CAN HAVE ALL VOLUNTEERS CHECKED THROUGH ATHLETICS NORTHERN IRELAND IN THE SAME WAY AS COACHES ETC. FOR VOLUNTARY POSITIONS THIS IS FREE OF CHARGE.
